How it works...

1. Take a blank ceramic from the shelves. You can pick from a wide range of ceramics from cups and plates to vases and picture frames...

2. Paint the ceramic with a design of your choosing using our underglaze ceramic paints. Remember the colour of the paint will change when it goes in the kiln...

3. We then glaze and fire your ceramic in the kiln. It takes 72 hours (although it can be longer during busy times), but once glazed it will last forever. Et voila!

How much does it cost?

There is a £4 studio charge per painter (you only pay this once per person no matter how many items you paint), which covers all paint, glazing and firing costs, then you simply pay the price of the ceramics you pick which range from £4 - £40. Our ceramics change all the time, but click HERE for our price list (subject to availability)

What ages is it suitable for?

Absolutely anyone can do ceramic painting aged from 0 -100. We can do baby footprints from just a few days old and host birthday parties for all ages. As a parent you will know best how much your child will get from the activity and even the messiest painting can look gorgeous. It's not just for kid's either, adults are welcome to paint any time and we host Late Night Painting evenings on the second and fourth Thursday of every month where we stay open until 10pm.

How long does it take?

How long is a piece of string? Painting can take as long as you want it to. We usually say allow between one and two hours for a painting session, although it can be done quicker or you can take your time. During busy periods we limit sessions to two hours.

Do I need to book?

During the week you are usually OK to just pop in whenever you like - although booking is always best. We strongly advise booking during school holidays and on weekends or if you are a big group. We will always do our best to squeeze you in though but you can always give us a call on 0208 532 2824 before you head over.

When will I get my ceramics?

Please allow 72 hours for us to glaze and fire your ceramics. During busy periods this can take longer, but you will be given a collection time on a day after 2pm when you paint. If you need something on a shorter deadline, let us know before you start painting and we will do our best to get it fired in time for you.

Do you serve food and drinks?

Yes! As well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes and soft drinks we also bake all our own cakes on the premises and offer a wide selection of savoury snacks from toasties to baguettes and soups to sandwiches.

What paint do you use?

We use underglaze paints which are non-toxic and wash out of clothes - so don't worry if you get a bit messy!

Can I put my ceramics in the dishwasher?

All our ceramic homewares, once glazed, can be put in the dishwasher, although they are not suitable for use in the microwave.

How long do you keep the ceramics for?

We keep all ceramics for 6 months and will always do our best to contact you if you haven't picked them up by then. We can occasionally post ceramics, please contact us for more details.

Can you paint something for me?

Absolutely, we can paint custom orders for you and in the past have done everything from customised mugs to a full dinner service. Drop us an email at email@creativebiscuit.co.uk with your requirements and we will get straight back to you. We can also do the writing on your ceramics if you prefer for a £2 per item fee.
