Late Night Painting meets Clay Club

Updated: Jul 3, 2023

Our twice-monthly Late Night Painting is getting a bit of a makeover for 2020. Now not only can you come in and paint ceramics to your heart’s content in peace and quiet (well there’s a bit of music and chat, obviously) but you can also play with clay too!

Meet up with friends or grab a bit of ‘me’ time to do some mindful making. There are no rules – you can make anything you like and we’ll fire it in our kiln. You can then return to paint it or have it glazed right away.

Tell me more, I hear you ask. No problem, let me break it down for you…

What is it?

Come and play with clay! Grab a lump of clay and get creative making whatever you want! Use hand-building techniques to make anything from pots to sculptures. All pieces are fired in our kiln and can then be painted and glazed once they have had their first fire. The sessions are drop in, although we do advise booking a place to guarantee a space.

When is it?

Every second and fourth Thursday between 6pm and 10pm (last admittance 8.30pm), during our Late Night Painting evenings. All pieces are ready for collection or to be worked on at the next late night painting session (or can be fired earlier by agreement if you wish to paint and finish the item sooner).

Who can do it?

Anyone! The evening session is designed for beginners aged over 13 years.

What does it cost?

There is a £15 cost per person per session, which includes a 750g lump of clay and your first firing. If you wish to return to paint your clay it is an additional session for £15 which covers all your paints, glazing and firing. Extra clay costs £5 per 500g.

What will I learn?

That’s totally up to you. We will be on hand to teach you the basics of pinch pots, coil pots and beginners slab work. Come with ideas or just have a squidge while you wait for inspiration.

Can I use a wheel?

Unfortunately we do not have a wheel for customers to use at this time. Clay club is for hand building with clay only.

Do you serve food and drink?

Yes! We serve toasties and soup in the evenings as well as teas, coffees and soft drinks. You’re also welcome to BYOB and we can supply the glasses.

If you have any questions or would like to book to come along drop us an email at email@creativebiscuit.co.uk or give us a call on 0208 532 2824

If you are searching for a fun and relaxing winter game, Snow Rider is an excellent choice. The smooth sled movement and endless gameplay mode keep players entertained for hours. I always try to beat my high score every time I play this game!

I found this while waiting for an appointment and didn't expect to like it. Connect Master has a board of quirky face cards, and you're swapping them around to find which four have something in common. At first I was guessing, but then I started noticing the patterns. The pacing is perfect for a quick session.
